Midi Bistro
168 McCaul St
Toronto, ON
I wanted to go here for Winterlicious 2011, but it was booked full when the group wanted to go, so I was determined to go here this time (it’s with a different group of friends). The place does French cuisine, and I could see why it was booked so quickly. It’s a really small room on McCaul st.
APPETIZERS:

Escargots! I had this one, and it pretty much just tasted like what escargots taste like, but in a sort of sauce. I don’t remember the sauce standing out that much, but it was tasty enough from my memory.

Salad of some sort.

Soup — don’t really know what kind
MAIN DISHES:

Duck Leg! The whole reason I wanted to go here was to try the duck leg
. It was pretty tasty, and I really liked it with the blueberry sauce that it came with. I haven’t had a lot of meat with sweet sauces, so it was pretty interesting for me
.

Salmon.

My friend has an obsession with shepherd’s pie.
DESSERT:

Creme Brulee. I got this and I remember liking it!

Raspberry Gelato, I think?

I have absolutely no clue what this is! I think it’s some kind of pastry with chocolate on it.

Or this, for that matter. I’m so helpful. Googled it, and it’s poached pear
.
